Kavi® Members Help

Chapter 143. Add an Address Type

Overview

Use the Add an Address Type tool to create an Address Type for your organization. You can select the Company Purposes or User Purposes to which this Address Type applies, and this type of address will be collected and displayed whenever companies or users with these purposes are managed.

If your organization has Kavi Membership with Kavi Billing installed, address information fields are included in the Billing Information. These address fields are affected by global configuration options set in the Configure Addresses tool, but are automatically installed by Kavi Billing and do not appear in the Address Types tools.

How to Add an Address Type

Set these values and options to configure your Address Type.

Fields Description
Address Type Name Add a name for your new Address Type.
Address Type Description If you want a line of text displayed above the address collection fields for this Address Type, enter a description here. Many Address Types are self-explanatory, so a description is not required.
Required?

If 'Yes', this address information must be supplied for a user or company of the specified purpose(s).

If 'No', this type of address will be displayed for a user or company of the specified purpose(s), but the information is optional.

Collected for (Purpose)

This field displays Company Purposes if this is a Company Address Type, or User Purposes if this is a User Address Type. If this Address Type should be collected for all purposes, leave this set to 'All'. If it should only be collected for specific purposes, deselect 'All' by clicking in the checkbox, then click the checkboxes to select the desired purposes.

Done

The Manage Company Address Types or Manage User Address Types page is displayed so you can review your new Address Type.

Use the up-arrow or down-arrow buttons in the Order column if you want to change the order in which this Address Type appears in company or user account management tools. If multiple Address Types are collected for the same purpose, the information in the first Address Type field can be used to populate subsequent Address Type fields.
