Chapter 142. Manage User Address Types

Overview

If your organization collects user addresses, the Manage User Address Types tool shows which Address Types are available in your organization and provides links to tools used to add, edit, deactivate and delete Address Types.

If your organization has Kavi Membership with Kavi Billing installed, address information fields are included in the Billing Information. These address fields are affected by global configuration options set in the Configure Addresses tool, but are automatically installed by Kavi Billing and do not appear in the Address Types tools.

How to Manage User Address Types

View existing User Address Types and access tools to manage them.

Fields Description
Order Address Types are displayed on forms in the order in which they appear in the Name column (the following column). To change the order, click one of the up or down arrows in this Order column.
Name The name of the Address Type.
Collected for (Purpose)

Address Type availability can be based on Purpose. If it is not restricted by Purpose, this value is 'All'.

If the availability of a User Address Type is based on Purpose, this field displays the User Purposes for which this Address Type is available. This Address Type is displayed to users and administrators when managing the account of a user with this purpose. Data for this Address Type can be uploaded for users of this purpose or downloaded in reports.

If the availability of a Company Address Type is based on Purpose, this field displays the Company Purposes for which this Address Type is available. This Address Type is displayed to company and organization administrators when managing the account of a company with this purpose. Data for this Address Type can be uploaded for companies of this purpose or downloaded in reports.

Status Shows whether this Address Type is available for use or not. If 'active', then it is in use. If 'inactive', it is not.
Option Description
Add Click the Add Address Type link to Add an Address Type.
Edit Click the Edit link to Edit an Address Type.
Deactivate If an Address Type is active, the Deactivate link is displayed. Click this link if you want to Deactivate an Address Type. A deactived Address Type isn't displayed when managing accounts, and you can't upload data for this Address Type, but if data exists in the database, it can be downloaded in reports.
Activate If an Address Type is deactivated, the Activate link is displayed. Click this link if you want to Activate an Address Type. Once you activate this Address Type it will be displayed when managing accounts, and you can use the Upload Data tool to populate these address data fields.
Delete

If this Address Type is not in use, you can click the Delete link to Delete an Address Type. If you want to delete an Address Type that is in use, you must remove all address data. The fastest way to do this is through the Upload Data tool. Download a .csv file of all users or companies with this Address Type data, clear the columns for Address Type of data and perform an edit operation. When you return to the Manage page, the Delete button will be displayed.
