Delete a Ballot
Use this form to permanently delete a ballot. Note: You must have Ballot Manage privileges to delete a ballot.
To delete a ballot:
- From All Groups, click the name of the group whose ballot you want to amend. This takes you to the home page for that group.
- Click the Ballots tab. This takes you to the Group Ballots page for that group.
- Find the ballot you want to delete.
- Click on the Ballot Name. This will take you to the Ballot Details page.
- Click Delete, located to the right of the Ballot Name. This takes you to the Delete Ballot page.
- Review the ballot information.
- When you finish, click Delete this Ballot or Cancel to return to the Group Ballots page without deleting the ballot. Clicking Delete Ballot takes you to the Delete Ballot - Success page. The ballot will be deleted immediately and an email will be sent to the group chair.
Sections
Ballot Details - The following information is provided for each ballot:
- Title - Title of the ballot. For example, "Spring Conference Venue". If you have Ballot Manage privileges, you also see links to Modify, Edit Votes & Proxy Vote, Eligible Voters, Close a Ballot, and Delete a Ballot.
- Ballot text - Description of the ballot.
- Amendment text (if any) - Date posted and complete text.
- Ballot Options - Selections from which voters can choose to cast their votes. If the ballot was configured to allow voters to write in an option, "[ ] Other" appears at the bottom of the list, along with a 250-character text box for entering the option.
- Opening - Date and time (including Time Zone) on which voters may begin casting votes for the ballot.
- Closing - Date and time (including Time Zone) on which voters may no longer cast votes for the ballot.
- Group - Sponsoring group for the ballot (your group), linked to the group's home page. If the ballot is open to all groups, the group will read "General Membership".
Ballot Info - Details viewable only by members with Ballot Manage privileges.
- Opening Date - Date and time (including Time Zone) on which voters may begin casting votes for the ballot.
- Closing Date - Date and time (including Time Zone) on which voters may no longer cast votes for the ballot.
- Reminder Email - Date and time (including Time Zone) on which an email is sent to all eligible voters who have not yet cast their vote.
- Open/Close Email - On or off, showing whether email will be sent to eligible voters when the ballot opens and when it closes.
Note: A group member's voting eligibility is assigned by the group Chair or other group member with Roster Manage privileges. See Change Group Member Role for more information.
- Results Available to - Groups with whom the ballot results are shared..
- Results Available When - When results are viewable (as soon as the ballot opens or only after it closes).
- Detailed Results Available - Yes or No. If this is "No", only the ballot results summary will be made available.
- Re-Voting Enabled - Whether voters may vote as many times as they want before the ballot closes.
- Meeting Attendance Requirement - How many meetings a member must have attended to be eligible to vote on this ballot, or "No requirement."
